In North Park and surrounding areas, your neighbor's kids could be one of the 30% living in poverty. Kids who are experiencing
food insecurity, with parents who are struggling to make ends meet. In the time of a global pandemic, there is so much need, and
it can be hard to identify where to begin to lend a hand.
San Diego for Every Child has pledged to cut child poverty by 50% by 2030. Launching in early
2020, the organization already had an uphill climb. Then the global pandemic hit,
unemployment soared, and kids who got at least two meals at school were sent home to learn.
We can all agree that protecting and supporting our most precious resource,
our children, should be our number one priority as a community.
